About Delaware Lottery

The Delaware state lottery is the official state run lottery for Delaware and began in May 31, 1974. The Delaware Lottery was established by an act of the General Assembly and signed into law by Governor Sherman W. Tribbit. The first Delaware lottery tickets went on sale in March 1975 for the Lottery's first game, the weekly Lotto Superfecta, based on live horse races at two of the state's racetracks. Instant games made their debut in February 1976 with Diamond Instant Dollars.

While no one has one the big jackpot in Delaware, some Delawareans have had some luck playing the Mega Millions game by having a few $1 million winners in the First State.
